BIRTHDAY PARTIES

by mary hendrickse, school & youth groups manager

Birthday parties at the National Building Museum are a special treat, and can be booked by our members. We launched a new type of birthday party for our members in the last year, Castles and Crowns. Thirty-nine of these parties were booked, making it a competitor for favorite party of the year. It narrowly missed beating our all-time favorite party—All Aboard! Train Construction. During the party, children become architects of their own dream castle, adding turrets, crenelations, and sometimes even dragons to their fantastical structures. And, of course, there are jeweled crowns to wear so that everyone can be royalty on the special day.

Host your own party!

“Our museum teachers did a FABULOUS job. They jumped in and helped decorate the moment we arrived, kept the children engaged the entire time, and really helped us (the parents) tailor the party schedule to the children’s needs. They were wonderful with the children and really made the party a pleasurable experience for not only the children, but the adults as well.”

“Amanda is AMAZING! Enthusiastic spirit! Great energy! Very resourceful! Very helpful! She really made this party the BEST Birthday Party either one of my kids has EVER had! Thank-you so much for making this not only the most memorable, but the most ENJOYABLE for ALL!”
